• Persian Cats Breeders Association

The Persian cat has come a long way to become one of the most favored pets in the world. The increase in popularity has given a boost to Persian cat breeding.

Hosts of breeders are involved in developing the Persian cat in its many varieties to cater to the cat lovers of the world.

It is advised to go with cat breeders that specifically deal with Persian cats. Breeders that deal with Persian cats only have a better understanding of the requirements of the Persian and treat it according to its specific characteristics whereas cat breeders might generalize the treatment of the Persian.

Not only will a professional Persian cat breeder be focused on that one breed, but also be able to offer you a wider selection when it comes to choosing the color of the Persian cat, not to mention the reliability that comes with professionalism.

    Breeding Specialists

Some Persian cat breeders go so far as to selecting a certain deviant of Persian cats and specialize only in their production. For example a Himalayan cat breeder would focus only on producing the Siamese kitten which is popular with all the Persian cat lovers.

    Himalayan Breeding

If you are interested in getting the Siamese cat make sure you contact a professional Himalayan breeder to get an original cat.

This particular version of the breed is characterized by its longer than average hair with a slight variance between the British and American style Persian.

    Pekefaced Cats

Some breeding experts are fond of producing the chocolate and lavender variety of the flat faced Persian cat which resembles the Pekingese dog and hence is named the Pekefaced Persian cat.

The breeders tend to use their own terminologies to describe the particular variety of the Persian cat that they produce like a certain breed named the doll-face Persian which has a round facial structure compared to the flat faced ones.

The first thing you need to ask the breeder should be regarding the congenital defects. Every breed of cat has some genetic problems and if your breeder says it doesnt then you should look for another one because thats not possible.

In fact the breeder should tell you how they avoid the breeding of these defects in their production stock.
