    Rabbits are high maintenance, they do require exercise, attention, human interaction and training on a daily basis. Bunnies tend to live for 12-18 years so it really pays to do your research before you commit to the adoption of a rabbit. Rabbits are very social animals and require a lot of human interaction, so ensuring you have the time available to spend with your bunny is important.

    Rabbits are fragile animals, young children and rabbits often do not mix well. Young children are usually loud and unpredictable, this can cause the rabbits stress and can lead the rabbits to have a heart attack. If you are considering a rabbit for your children it may pay to consider another pet.

    The responsibility of owning a pet can be a wonderful experience for older children. Older kids know how to handle the rabbits with care. However, often children’s attention span may mean that the parents are lumped with the responsibility of looking after the rabbit later down the track.

    Research is key before you are thinking of adopting a rabbit as a new pet. Rabbits are not low maintenance they do require daily care. However, they do form great bonds with their owners so the work does pay off. Getting a good information guide is the best way to ensure you have all the knowledge you need.

    Researching about the breeder and checking out what the parents of your new bunny, is the best insurance against getting a well breed and behaved rabbit. Some rabbit do show aggression and can be misbehaved, so it really does pay to do your research before adopting your rabbit. Having a well behaved rabbit will ensure that they are a wonderful addition to your family.
